The new pilot 8 Mosquito from swiss Breitling is a tribute to the mosquito bomber, constructed almost entirely of wood, and its speed and maneuverability contributed to its successful plane in the early 1940s.

The newest member of the Aviator series uses a 43 mm stainless steel case and a black satin-brushed ADLC coated stainless steel bezel with red hands, hour markers and Arabic numerals. Compared with the usual DLC (diamond-like carbon) coating, the ADLC (amorphous diamond-like carbon) treatment provides a deeper tone while further improving the hardness.

It has a black dial with a contrasting silver sub-dial-this is a major feature of the Aviator 8 watch equipped with Breitling’s self-made 01 movement.

The orange central hour hand, minute hand and central second hand are all coated with Super-LumiNova luminous coating, even in the case of low light, the Discount watch is clear and easy to read. The red and orange accents are reminiscent of the circles and markings on the body of de Havilland Mosquito. The dial has a date window between 4 o’clock and 5 o’clock.

Through the transparent sapphire case back, the Breitling Manufacture Calibre 01 can provide a power reserve of approximately 70 hours and provide power at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour). It is certified as an observatory watch by the Swiss Official Observatory Testing Institute (COSC).

Breitling Aviator 8 Mosquito is water-resistant to 10 bar (100 meters / 330 feet) and is matched with a brown vintage leather strap. It can be paired with a pin buckle (model AB01194A1B1X1) or a folding buckle (model AB01194A1B1X2).
