Jacob & Co. Releases New Epic X Chrono Sky Blue Exclusively Through Swiss Watch Group
In early January, The Watches of Switzerland Group announced its first partnership of the year, as the group’s Watches of Switzerland and MAYOR boutiques have become exclusive retail outlets for jewelery and watchmaker Jacob & Co.’s newly released Epic X Chrono Sky Blue business.
The new Sky Blue watch is the latest addition to Jacob & Co.’s Epic X Chrono collection. The collection is known for its many different colorways – including white, orange, yellow and green versions – and while this latest sky blue model is exclusive to Watches of Switzerland Group, the brand has previously partnered with Bugatti and Football star Lionel Messi has collaborated on pieces from his menswear collection as well as a diverse range of individual versions.
Watches of Switzerland Group owns Watches of Switzerland (a retailer of new and pre-owned watches operating in the US and the UK) and MAYORS (a luxury jeweler based in the southeastern US), which are the Group’s two main retailers in the US. The Epic X Chrono Sky Blue features a polished 47mm case in titanium and rose gold for an overall masculine look. This model uses a large integrated crown guard and chronograph pushers, a large stylized crown at 3 o’clock for setting the time, and a crown with a pattern at 10 o’clock for rotating the curved inner bezel. On the skeletonized blue dial you’ll find four rose gold lines running across the face of the mechanism, separated by two satin-finished and anodized aluminum subdials – the seconds hand at 9 o’clock and the 30-minute counter Parallel to 3 o’clock. Surrounding the dial are two large skeletonized hands with Super-LumiNova coating, while a contrasting slim red hand counts the seconds.
Inside the watch is the Jacob & Co. JCAA05 movement, a brand-exclusive skeletonized movement that offers a 48-hour power reserve. The automatic movement, visible through the sapphire case back, features an open barrel, polished and circular textured bridges, and an anthracite-polished oscillating weight that powers the watch in perpetuity.
