As one of the world’s premier and highly innovative Swiss watchmakers, the nautical chronometer watchmakers in the Ulysse Nardin Ocean fake watch collection offer the latest options for those looking for reliable and sophisticated timepieces. Coveted by collectors around the world, the marine chronometer collection is at the forefront of watch technology, offering buyers pieces that are both functional and elegant.
Enhanced in size and luxury, these new watches feature an invention unique to the Ulysse Nardin brand, the UN-118 caliber self-winding movement. Made from diamonds and silicon, this new technology extends the durability of the watch itself, while still offering the time, secondary seconds dial, date and power reserve indicator expected from the marine chronometer manufacturing line. Ulysse Nardin Ulysse Nardin looks similar to a traditional nautical chronometer ship clock with great attention to detail and uniqueness.
The watch itself has a diameter of 45 mm and is water-resistant to 200 meters. For those who really crave a coveted watch, we offer a limited edition of 350 pieces in 18 karat rose gold ( Ulysse Nardin Nautical Observatory Maker Watch 1186-122) with an optional rose gold bracelet and black alligator strap. This particular watch is also available in a stunning titanium case model, which is easier to use but still luxurious and desirable.
Ulysse Nardin retains the original charm of a historic watch, incorporating design elements from the company’s founding in 1846 and reimagined for a modern clientele. This has put the new collection of Marine Chronometer Manufacture watches in the spotlight of avid collectors and buyers around the world.
Ulysse Nardin Marine Chronometer Manufacture Watch
One watch I certainly didn’t want to miss in 2012 was the new collection of watches from the Ulysse Nardin Marine Chronometer Manufacture. A step up in size and detail, the Marine Chronometer Manufacture also includes the long-awaited in-house manufactured Ulysse Nardin caliber UN-118 automatic movement. While these aren’t a quick departure from the existing Marine collection, they are beautiful watches with good movements and an unprecedented “Ulysse Nardin” character.
The story of the UN-118 automatic movement is quite long. Completed not long ago, the movement has experienced some production delays due to the complexities of industrialization. While Ulysse Nardin is no stranger to producing movements or movement modules, the UN-118 will be their first “more basic” movement made in-house, and not just in small batches.
The movement UN-118 (aka “UN118” or “118”) uses technology from the company Sigatec purchased in Athens. Sigatec makes what they call DIAMonSIL, which is actually diamond on silicon. Diamond-coated silicon greatly increases the durability and longevity of silicon watch components – which can actually be quite fragile. Thanks to the lubrication-free properties of silicon and the strength of the diamond coating, DIAMonSIL parts, such as escapements, are very strong. On the automatic rotor of the 118 movements you will find a DIAMonSIL logo.
What you see in the pictures are the standard and limited editions of the marine observatory manufacturer. Ulysse Nardin fake wanted to create a more unique model to showcase the new movement. The limited edition has a white enamel dial and an engraved gold automatic oscillating weight. You’ll also notice the limited edition comes in a heavy 18k rose gold case (optional bracelet). Unlike standard Marine Chronometer Manufacture watches, the limited edition has a “UN 118” label on the dial. The details are pleasing and, of course, the whole point of a Marine watch is to have a dial that looks like a traditional nautical chronometer ship clock.
From a complication standpoint, the UN 118 movement offers what you would expect from the collection, including the time, auxiliary seconds dial, date and power reserve indicator. With a 60-hour power reserve, the movement wouldn’t be called a “chronometer” if it wasn’t COSC certified. In terms of size, the Marine Chronometer Manufacture is a size upgrade from a non-manufactured movement model. These new watches are 45mm wide, but don’t necessarily have to be that big due to the style of the lugs and the thickness of the bezel and flange rings.
The traditional details of this quasi-dive watch are there, as the marine observatory manufacturer features elements like 200-meter water resistance and a rubber-coated crown for easy gripping. In terms of style, the typical Ulysse Nardin quirks of the standard model are something you might not expect compared to the most classic limited edition dials with painted Roman numerals. The standard model comes with larger applied Roman numeral hour indicators and diving hands – a unique combination that will probably grow on you. With the exception of the limited edition with an enamel dial, luminaries are placed on the hands and flange rings on all models.
I like that the Ulysse Nardin keeps the magnifying glass on the date window. These are less common these days, but I still love them in many situations. The Marine Chronometer Manufacture watch will be available in at least three strap options with a case in 18k rose gold and a mix of titanium and rose gold. There is also a titanium case model with a steel bezel. Strap options include the signature Ulysse Nardin rubber diver strap with metal links, as well as alligator leather straps and all-gold or titanium and stainless steel bracelets. best price watches
