Chopard Mille Miglia Lab One
Chopard fake launched the first automatic tourbillon chronograph with a futuristic concept and went all out.
The new futuristic tourbillon case inspired by high-performance racing cars is housed in a futuristic case that can accelerate the Mille Miglia series at full speed. Although many Mille Miglia watches are inspired by classic cars competing in the 1,000-mile race from Brescia to Rome, Chopard Mille Miglia Lab One is the vision for the future direction of the series. This latest racing team member is wrapped in a black titanium alloy cushion-shaped case and is equipped with Chopard’s first automatic tourbillon. With two patents, this concept watch will be strictly limited to 20 pieces.
CHOPARD’s first concept watch
Mille Miglia Lab One is the brand’s first concept watch, a vision for the future of Mille Miglia and a way to test the waters to the public. The tradition of the concept watch is directly borrowed from the world of concept cars. They are models designed to test new technologies and styles, and these models have been applied to the public domain to assess responses.
The most extreme Mille Miglia model to date, the 48.6mmx 46mm case with a height of 14.85mm is made of titanium alloy and treated with black DLC. The shell is a so-called cushion-shaped shell with an angled ten-sided profile. The sandblasted and polished finish highlights the unusual case shape, and the limbs are equipped with four functional PVD-coated screws. Diamond-like carbon, often used in the automotive industry, protects the watch case from scratches and gives it a sporty wind. Another advantage provided by the large chassis is the amount of space available for functions and the convenience of easily querying these functions.
When Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, the co-president of Chopard, issued the mandate of Lab One, the shape of the manual winding L.U.C 04.01-L movement in the Chopard L.U.C Engine One tourbillon model attracted his team of designers. The shape of this manual winding movement is similar to a rectangle with rounded corners, and its design is designed to echo the shape of the engine block.
Ergonomics plays an important role in Chopard Mille Miglia Lab One. The invisible screw-in crown (patent applied for) has been tucked into the left side of the case to avoid disturbing the driver during laps and to ensure that the case is waterproof Up to 50 meters.
Racing certificate
The design of the dial is inspired by the racing world. The overall color scheme of the dial is black and silver, with a sense of racing red. The hollowed out silver grid on the side of the dial looks like a radiator grille and provides a clear view of the movement. The central area of the dial is covered by a black hat with silver speed patterns and a large Arabic numeral 12. The big date function is located in the black frame and in the hollow area.
Directly below the sharp outline of the hollow pointer with luminous tip is the large aperture of the tourbillon. On the left side of the tourbillon is the power reserve meter (fully capable of providing 60 hours of autonomous driving), and on the right side is the day of the week retrograde indicator, both with a sandblasted silver background and red hands. At the top of the tourbillon bridge is a small black seconds hand. Below the hollow bridge is a view of a new patented stop tourbillon system inspired by racing disc brakes.
Under the hood
The back of the men watches cheap shows Chopard’s new watchmaking 04.03-M cushion-shaped tourbillon movement, self-winding. On the right side of the case back is a large black hollow dial, which corresponds to the new patented screw-in crown, which looks like a rim. As mentioned earlier, the 04.03-M movement is a brand new movement, the first automatic tourbillon movement manufactured by Chopard, and the first movement with a stop tourbillon mechanism.
In a manner similar to a disc brake system in a car, the tourbillon carriage can be stopped by an axially mounted joystick, and the joystick will start as long as the crown is pulled out. This means that the movement can be set to the nearest number of seconds, which is an extremely rare feature for tourbillons. Variner balance also applied for a second patent, the balance ensures stable motion ratings by compensating for changes in inertia.
The movement uses an engine-style finish, a hollow tourbillon double-link bridge (dial side), and the rotor and the bridge are dark-plated to form a distinctive all-black appearance with a contrasting racing red inscription. Chopard’s calibre 04.04-M has 485 parts and is one of the most complex movements made by Chopard manufacturers and has been certified by COSC as an chronometer. The beat frequency is 28,800vph, and the power reserve is about 60 hours.
In line with the racing spirit of the online men watches, the special strap is made of woven carbon fiber on the top and rubber on the bottom, and is equipped with a black DLC coating and sandblasted titanium folding clasp to make the packaging more perfect.
